SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, maneuvering, monitoring, and proper placement of product and material movement through production areas to maintain efficient plant operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Review work orders and provide assistance and coordination with department leads to set up production lines.
  2. Inspect forklift at the beginning of each shift and follow designated checklist.  Report all defects/concerns to supervisor/manager immediately.  Submit checklist daily to supervisor/manager.
  3. Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage, production, powder coating, shipping and receiving, and outside areas to proper locations.
  4. Attach identifying tags to products and verify that every item is properly labeled, even if product has already been labeled.
  5. Ensure that job materials and packaging materials are available at work stations as required.
  6. Communicate frequently with department leads to provide for the constant flow of materials.
  7. Assist shipping and receiving department in the efficient removal of materials from containers and as otherwise needed.
  8. Record number of units handled and moved using daily production sheets.
  9. Restock, clean, and re-organize production floor as needed.
  10. Check that product staged and waiting to be used is placed in safe areas.
  11. Keep all aisle ways and fire doors free of materials.
  12. Fix, band, color code, and dispose of pallets.
  13. Assist lead with certain servicing operations, such as anchoring and realignment of racking.
  14. Maintain daily inventory records for production materials. 
  15. Communicate with and assist other workers in work area.
  16. Follow good housekeeping practices within the facility, including effective use of all warehouse space and in external staging areas.
  17. Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
  18. Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.
  19. Perform any other duties as assigned.
  20. Responsible for generating team spirit and creating and maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.

Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm
