Responsibilities
As an Authorization Specialist, You will:     
- Be the crucial link between patients, insurance companies, and our clinical teams by obtaining and tracking preauthorization.
- Provide outstanding customer service by answering calls and assisting both staff and insurance representatives.
- Monitor and manage authorization statuses using computer reports and maintain clear, accurate documentation.
- Safeguard sensitive patient information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
- Collaborate across multiple departments to ensure smooth communication and efficient service delivery.
- Identify and resolve authorization challenges quickly by working closely with your supervisor and the team.
- Play an active role in training new employees on authorization processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in health care billing and/or authorization practices
- General knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home care
- Sound knowledge of health care operations and third-party reimburesmentÂ
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Exploreer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applicationsÂ
- Solid organizational skills, throughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi- task while prioritizing effectivelyÂ
- Ability to work independently and in a team enivronmentÂ
- Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanorÂ
