Job DetailsJob Location: Nordic Valley Resort - Eden, UT 84310Position Type: Full TimePosition Overview:  The Lift Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance,  inspection, and repair of all ski lifts at the resort. This role ensures that all lift equipment  operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and regulatory  guidelines. The Lift Maintenance Manager leads a team of technicians, coordinates  scheduled and emergency maintenance, and works closely with other resort  departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.  Key Responsibilities:  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage and perform preventive maintenance,  inspections, and repairs on all resort lift systems.  • Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of lift maintenance technicians,  ensuring proper training, skill development, and safety protocols are followed. • Safety Compliance: Ensure all lift systems comply with state and federal  regulations, industry standards, and resort policies. This includes adherence to  ANSI, OSHA, and local codes.  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and  repairs for all lift systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation is  available for internal and external audits.  • Emergency Response: Respond quickly to lift breakdowns or emergencies,  troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime and guest disruption. • Vendor Coordination: Work with lift manufacturers and third-party service  providers for technical support, equipment upgrades, and parts procurement. • Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the lift maintenance  budget, including planning for capital improvements, maintenance schedules,  and parts inventory.  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other resort departments, including operations,  mountain safety, and guest services, to align lift operations with resort goals and  guest satisfaction.  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and mentorship for the lift  maintenance team, ensuring all staff are knowledgeable about current lift  technologies, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.  Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with lift operations, ensuring  that all safety measures are in place and effectively implemented.     QualificationsQualifications: • Experience: 5+ years of experience in ski lift maintenance or similar  mechanical/technical field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory  role.  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in lift maintenance, mechanical systems,  or electrical systems are highly preferred (e.g., NAARSO, CET, or similar). • Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of lift systems, mechanical and  electrical components, and hydraulic systems commonly found in ski resorts. • Safety Focus: Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols related  to ski lifts, including ANSI B77.1 standards and OSHA guidelines.  • Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve  issues quickly and efficiently.  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and lead a team, ensuring high  performance and safety.  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the  ability to interact effectively with resort staff, vendors, and regulatory agencies. • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor, mountainous environments  in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks, including  lifting heavy equipment, climbing, and operating tools.    Work Environment:  • Outdoor work in cold, snowy, and varying mountain conditions.  • On-call responsibilities for emergencies and breakdowns, particularly during peak  season.  • Collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere with an emphasis on safety and guest  experience.  This role is vital for maintaining the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our ski  resort’s transportation systems, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests.
