Responsibilities
- Performing surveillance of the population for infectionÂ
- Developing and implementing educational programsÂ
- Maintaining professional relationships with all departmentsÂ
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge for the practice of infection controlÂ
- Managing within the established infection control standards and management protocolsÂ
- Presenting at new hire orientationÂ
- Facilitating problem identification and interventionsÂ
- Performing analysis of Infection Control DataÂ
- Completing Infection Control Risk assessment and updating same as neededÂ
- Collaborating with facility, network, other hospitals, local and state health department to ensure updated adherence to recommended infection prevention and control practices
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Have primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or another related field;Â
- Be qualified by education, training, experience or certification
- Have completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.Â
- Participation on quality assessment and assurance committee.Â
- Complete training by APIC, CDC, SHEA or other state approved sources or be certified by CBIC or NADONA or have 5 yrs. experience in Infection Control.Â
- Current with all Continuing Education (CE) requirementsÂ
- Perform clinical care professionallyÂ
- Serve as patient advocate and role model to other Team MembersÂ
- Ability to effectively work on a multidisciplinary teamÂ

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeÂ
- Current and valid Nursing License in the State of New JerseyÂ
- Bachelor's Degree in NursingÂ
- Previous Infection Control/Prevention experience is a plusÂ
- Two (2) years of nursing experienceÂ

Licenses and Certifications Required:
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or Licensed Practical Nurse.Â
- An individual certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology or meets the requirements under N.J.A.C. 8:39-20.2 or A physician who has completed an infectious disease fellowship or A healthcare professional licensed and in good standing by the State of New Jersey

Starting Minimum Rate

Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
