Description

Job Summary:

The Utility Mechanic is responsible for carrying out the routine facility maintenance and repairs of such things as broken or burnt out lighting, relocating furniture, trash removal, grounds clean up, etc. 


Essential Functions:

  • Perform general building maintenance including but not limited to: 

- replacement of burnt bulbs, lighting fixtures

- relocating furniture or office equipment

- trash removal

- cleaning of production area floor

- grounds clean up

- painting of facility walls 

- assist with replacement of doors, electrical wiring, etc as needed

  • Maintain organized work area. 
  • Operate power tools and other required equipment in accordance to OSHA and company safety standards. 
  • Complete assigned repairs in a timely manner & according to Company standards. 
  • Notify supervisor of needed repairs or areas of maintenance concern. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Requirements

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Good working knowledge and skill in techniques and procedures required for repair and maintenance of facilities requirements. 
  • Good communication, basic math, organizational and, decision-making skills required.  
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently in an often fast-paced environment, and positively contribute to team working environment.  


Physical Requirements:

Uniform: Associates will be issued and required to wear a standard uniform in accordance with the company’s dress code policy.

PPE: Protective equipment is available and will be required to be worn as the situation dictates. 


While performing the duties of this position, associates will be required to stand, sit and/or walk up and down stairs/steps repeatedly throughout most of the workday. While performing the duties of this position, the use of the computerized system/software is required. When in plant, the incumbent is subject to the outside environment with possible exposure to extreme temperatures (heat, cold, humidity, etc) and precipitation. Normal lifting of up to 75 pounds is possible. Mobility is necessary in order to perform assigned functions. Noise level is moderate to heavy as the work area is a production environment. Position requires working the necessary amount of hours needed to complete all position-related tasks or assignments on a timely basis. 


Required Credentials:

  • High School diploma or GED required.  
  • One year of experience in a maintenance field required. Production related experience a plus.
