Job DetailsJob Location: East Edmond Library - Edmond, OK 73034Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Master's DegreeSalary Range: $51,521.60 - $63,107.20 SalaryTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Summary: Under general direction, the Librarian performs a variety of professional librarian duties including providing information and assistance to customers of all ages; planning, scheduling, and presenting programs and/or services; performing reference, readers’ advisory services and bibliographic instruction; building relationships with community organizations; providing technology instruction; engaging in civic participation. This position will be assigned to the East Edmond Library, located at I-35 and East 15th Street in Edmond, OK.   The hiring salary for this position is $51,521.60 annually.  This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.  This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings.* *Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the library.   The Metropolitan Library System offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees: Health benefits that include medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage paid in full for Employee-only coverage (Family coverage available) Flexible Spending Accounts Vacation Leave @ 8 hours per month Sick leave @ 8 hours per month Twelve paid holidays (subject to date of hire) Defined Contribution (retirement) plan where employee contributes 6% and is matched at 10% (required participation for full-time employees) QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited college or university in Library and Information Science. HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Enthusiasm for public service and the ability to work well with a diverse audience. Knowledge of current trends in library services. Experience building community partnerships. Experience working with makerspace technologies.
