Department Specific Essential Job Functions: The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for Visiting position in Management Information Systems at the Assistant level, beginning in August 2026.  Applicants should hold a Ph.D. In Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field.  ABDs will be considered but must provide strong evidence that the degree will be completed prior to August 2026. Candidates are expected to have a balanced commitment towards teaching, research, and service.  Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate MIS and business analytics courses. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching. Experience Required: Teaching, research, departmental, college, and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor. Experience Preferred: Demonstrated potential of high-quality teaching.  Experience with SQL, Python, PowerBI, Information Technology or SAS Viya are a plus.  Applicants with a Ph.D. or ABD in MIS or a closely related field from an AACSB school will have priority consideration. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to teach introductory and advanced classes in Information Systems.  Ability to actively engage students in learning activities.
