Healthcare United is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join a fully EM residency-trained and board-certified team in East Central Illinois. This full-time opportunity features day and evening shifts only — no overnights — with a schedule of approximately fifteen 10-hour shifts per month in a recently renovated 32-bed emergency department. The department is well staffed with 50 hours of daily physician coverage plus 30 hours of APP coverage.

This is a non-trauma facility where adult and pediatric hospitalists handle their own admissions, letting you focus on emergency care. Candidates seeking sustainable scheduling, a collegial all-EM-trained group, and strong hospital support will find this to be an outstanding opportunity.

  • Evaluate and treat adult and pediatric patients in a 32-bed emergency department
  • Work day and evening shifts only — no overnight requirements
  • Collaborate with APP coverage and consulting specialists
  • Coordinate admissions with adult and pediatric hospitalist teams
  • Perform emergency procedures within full scope of EM training
  • Participate in departmental quality and throughput initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Deliver patient-focused, quality-driven care

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree required
  • Emergency Medicine residency training required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • Eligible for or active Illinois medical license
  • 2027 residency graduates considered; must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
