JOB DESCRIPTION
John Boos & Co. is accepting applications for CNC Machine Operators - 2nd Shift in our WOOD manufacturing facility. Â The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating the computer numerical control (CNC) machine to cut, shape, and drill wood components according to production specifications. Â This position ensures accurate machining, maintains production efficiency, and adheres to quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate CNC routers and machining centers used in the production of wood components.
- Load raw materials onto the machine.
- Read and interpret production drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Set up machine parameters including tooling, offsets, and program selection.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper cutting, drilling, and shaping of parts.
- Inspect finished components to verify accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions, quality issues, or material defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with material handling and movement of finished parts as needed.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a wood, cabinetry, millwork, or panel manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions.
- Basic computer skills for machine interface and program selection.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and material handling.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and moving equipment.
