Responsible for running the day to day operations on a construction site. Directs a crew as a working foreman and performs skilled work and related work as required. May operate a variety of heavy construction equipment.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction; ensure all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to company safety policies and guidelines
  • Tracking and recording daily production of the dirt crew and reporting back to the superintendent.
  • Inputting daily log books, time sheets and other job related paperwork.
  • Attend and facilitate coordination, production and safety meetings.
  • Communicate with onsite subcontractors, superintendent, and project manager
  • Ensure job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use.
  • Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety and other skills.
  • Manage, supervise and coordinate onsite work crew
  • Supervise installation and completion of work on time and budget.
  • Maintain a clean job site: ensure all tools and equipment are picked up and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Operate construction equipment as required.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director or HR as appropriate
  • Must be proactive in trouble shooting and maintain the work environment without compromise to any required regulations, quality of products or safe work practices
  • Responsible for daily time and quantity tracking 
  • Have the ability to effectively follow through on verbal and written instructions
  • Motivated to independently solve problems and seek opportunities to improve operations
  • Must be able to communicate with company and inspection staff in a professional way
