MTSI is looking for a Systems Engineering Senior Principal with experience in weapon system acquisition engineering for the purpose of advising AFLCMC Systems Program Office Materiel Leaders and Chief Engineers on program status and paths forward. Pursuant to the Secretary of War’s Warfighter Acquisition Transformation Strategy, this role will be expected to use their skillsets and experience to expedite capability delivery to warfighters by tailoring the traditional acquisition process to only critical and value-added items, emphasizing early prototyping and feedback, frequent warfighter user input, and rapid decision-making.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Preparing, facilitating, and conducting Systems Engineering and Technical Review (SETR) events on behalf of weapon system programs in the role of a systems engineering technical expert. These include Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Assess contract data requirements list (CDRL) item completion, particularly for Design Artifacts, on weapon contracts on behalf of the government.
  • Provide programmatic risk management advice to government materiel leaders.
  • Evaluate system test plans for accomplishment of program and end-user needs. This includes lab, ground and flight-testing events.
  • Experienced with Model-Based Systems Engineering design concepts.
  • Adherence to the Dept of War’s Mission Engineering Guide in daily functions: "Deliberate planning, analyzing, organizing, and integrating of current and emerging operational and system capabilities to achieve desired warfighting mission effects.”
  • Perform technical evaluations for government contract proposals.
  • Clearly communicate with and/or brief senior military, contract, and civilian personnel.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Systems, Software, or similar engineering field and 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Have extensive industry or government experience demonstrating and practicing their knowledge, skills, and abilities as a senior engineer and/or in technical program management.

Desired Qualifications:
  • PhD in Aeronautical, Electrical, Systems, Software, or similar engineering field
  • Master of Science degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Systems, Software, or similar engineering field and 25+ years of relevant experience

Clearance Requirements:
  • Top Secret
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
