Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Sisters of Charity - Mount St Joseph, OH 45051Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolJob Shift: EveningJob Category: NursingJob Overview The CNA is responsible for assisting and/or providing direct resident care in a team oriented environment. Reporting directly to the Charge Nurse, the CNA is expected to provide the highest level of quality sister care in compliance with Sisters of Charity policy/procedures and established best practice. Duties and Responsibilities Mission and Core Values Promote a campus-wide philosophy that aligns with the mission and core values of the Sisters of Charity. Teamwork and Collaboration Cooperate with health and wellness teams and other departments to ensure all sisters' needs are met. Accept changes in work assignments as requested by the nursing supervisor. Participate on committees for quality improvement as assigned. Engages residents throughout the shift by assisting with activities and providing companionship based on individual interests, such as conversation, walks (indoors or outdoors), reading, puzzles, games, or other appropriate activities. Clinical and Resident Care Assists with or provides activities of daily living for Sisters, including bathing, dressing, feeding, personal laundry, and end-of-life care, to support their physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs in accordance with established standards of care. Follow all direct care policies and procedures. Observe sisters' condition and communicate to charge nurse on a daily basis. Assist with admission and discharge procedures as assigned/required. Participate in CNA shift report, answer call lights, and assist sisters with any direct care restorative programs. Companion with sisters on doctor appointments, activity trips, emergency room visits, and mass as assigned/required. Participate in the Interdisciplinary Care Conference Team and perform duties as specified. Policy, Procedure and Compliance Maintain confidentiality of all sisters care information (HIPAA) and respect and adhere to all resident rights. Complete all assigned documents and mandatory training by specified deadlines. Complete all required sister documentation in an accurate and timely fashion. Follow all established infection control guidelines and standard precautions. Remain current on the nurse aide registry. Follow all safety guidelines and use equipment properly. Professional Development and General Duties Attend and participate in all in-services, training sessions, and staff meetings as required. Perform other duties as requested or required. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is performed in a healthcare and residential campus setting that may require exposure to varying temperatures, cleaning agents, and occasional noise. All employees must be able to perform the essential functions of their position with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and other movements consistent with a healthcare and residential work environment. QualificationsSkills and Qualifications Education: Required Preferred High School Diploma or GED.  Licensure/Certification: Required Certified Nurse Aide on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry or eligible to take the state exam.  Preferred  Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Required Preferred Knowledge of dementia  Kind and Length of Experience: Required Preferred Previous long term care experience Â
