Position Summary


The Material Handler supports production by ensuring materials, components, and finished goods are delivered, staged, and removed with accuracy and efficiency. This role combines traditional material‑handling duties with a structured, route‑based replenishment system designed to keep operators focused on value‑added work and maintain continuous production flow.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials and supplies

• Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility

• Stage materials for production according to schedules and work orders

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment safely

• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives

• Maintain clean, organized storage and staging areas

• Follow a standardized replenishment route to deliver materials just in time

• Ensure all workstations remain stocked with required parts, tools, and supplies

• Remove empty containers, scrap, and completed work from production areas

• Support takt time by preventing operators from leaving their stations

• Monitor material usage and communicate shortages or disruptions immediately

• Contribute to Lean initiatives by identifying waste and improving flow


Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Physically medium duty work required. 
  • Requires standing continuously and walking and sitting occasionally throughout the day.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 40 pounds frequently.

 

Experience and Education Required

 

  • Experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull materials within required weight limits
  • Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory tracking
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to follow structured routes and maintain consistent timing
  • Reliable, self‑directed, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
