JOB SUMMARYĀ 

Ā 

The Business OfficeĀ AssistantĀ is responsible for coordinating all office activities including: medical records, data entry, maintaining patient records, preparing for all meetings, coordinating all telephone calls and maintaining sufficient office supplies. The Business OfficeĀ AssistantĀ is responsible to the Administrator and the Program Director and assists with: direct patient expenditures coordination, personnel records, and billing liaison.Ā 

Schedule: Full timeĀ Ā 

PAY RANGE: $18 - $22/hr

DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITYĀ 

  • Communicates effectively on the telephone with patients,Ā familiesĀ and staff.Ā 

  • Answers incoming calls and forwards toĀ appropriate staffĀ person or takes a message if the person is not available.Ā 

  • WelcomesĀ andĀ assistsĀ all guests.Ā 

  • Manages incoming,Ā outgoingĀ and interoffice mail.Ā 

  • Performs typing, faxing and coping tasks as requested for various staff persons.Ā 

  • Promotes and lives the organization’s core values and acts as a cultural champion.Ā 

  • Prompt data entry for all employee information into system and back-up.Ā 

  • Maintains current contracts on contracted personnel.Ā 

  • Prompt data entry for all employee information into software.Ā 

  • Inputs data intoĀ computerĀ for billing purposes.Ā 

  • SubmitĀ accountsĀ payable information andĀ maintainĀ a system to ensure orders and invoices areĀ submittedĀ and paid onĀ a timelyĀ basis.Ā 

  • Orders andĀ maintainsĀ accurateĀ records of medical equipment and supplies.Ā 

  • MaintainsĀ accurateĀ mailing lists of employees; patients; volunteers, Medical Directors,Ā physiciansĀ and nursing facilities andĀ forwardsĀ any changes to the Corporate Office.Ā 

  • Support relief forĀ authorizations, intake, and scheduling.Ā

JOB REQUIREMENTSĀ 

  • Two years data entry experience. Previous billing and computer experience, preferably in hospice or similar operation.Ā 

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment andĀ demonstrateĀ good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.Ā 

  • Demonstrated capability to accurately manage detailed information.Ā 

  • Able to deal tactfully with patients, family members, referralĀ sourcesĀ and payers.Ā 

  • Previous healthcare related billing experience.Ā 

  • Word processing skillsĀ 

  • Personal computer skillsĀ
