Join Buckeye Union School District (El Dorado Hills): Public School District - Teacher Associate, Special Education position available – part-time (6 hours per day) during the school year.  (5 hours on Wednesdays)

Work hours are 7:45 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.  (Wednesday work hours are 7:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.)

This role is crucial in supporting our special education students and helping them achieve their full academic and social potential.

Role Overview

The Teacher Associate, Special Education, will provide instructional and behavioral support to special education students. This includes assisting with lesson implementation, providing one-on-one or small group instruction, and supporting the social and academic development of our students.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist the Special Education Teacher with the preparation and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)

  • Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support to special education students

  • Monitor and document student progress and communicate any concerns to the Special Education Teacher

  • Assist with classroom management and behavioral interventions as needed

  • Support students in developing social and life skills

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to provide comprehensive support to students

  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom activities

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the confidentiality of student information

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent is required

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Basic understanding of special education practices and principles

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs
