About the Role

The Mechanical Project Manager is accountable for the day-to-day execution and control of heavy industrial mechanical and multi-discipline construction projects. The role begins with a structured handoff
from Preconstruction and continues through mobilization, field execution, commissioning support, closeout, and final financial reconciliation. The Project Manager converts the contract, estimate, execution plan, and project schedule into coordinated action while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, cost, and client commitments are met.

This position works in close partnership with Executive Project Managers, Operations Manager, field leadership, Preconstruction, Safety, Quality, Procurement, Accounting, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, engineers, and other project stakeholders.

What You Will Own

Project Leadership and Execution. Lead project kickoff, establish project controls, and align the project team around the approved execution plan. Direct and coordinate the daily activities required to keep field operations productive, resolve issues quickly, and maintain clear accountability across office and field teams. Anticipate risk, identify emerging constraints, and escalate material issues to the Operations Manager and Executive Project Manager with recommended solutions.

Schedule and Resource Performance. Manage all project phases using the master schedule developed during Preconstruction. Coordinate with field leadership to update progress, evaluate production performance, and recover schedule when work begins to fall behind. Work with Operations, Procurement, Equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure labor, equipment, materials, information, and specialty services are available when required and do not delay field progress.

Cost Management. Maintain disciplined control of budgets, commitments, billing, forecasting, and change orders. Identify scope gaps and potential changes early; document impacts; obtain pricing and supporting records; and process potential change orders efficiently from identification through final resolution. Monitor project profitability, cash flow, cost-to-complete, owner pay applications, subcontractor commitments, and financial risk throughout the project lifecycle.

Safety and Quality Integration. Reinforce Diversified's safety culture and ensure work is planned and executed in accordance with company programs, client requirements, applicable regulations, approved drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and quality standards. Coordinate closely with Safety and Quality personnel, support required inspections and documentation, and ensure deficiencies are assigned, tracked, corrected, and closed in a timely manner.

Subcontractor and Supplier Management. Define and communicate subcontractor and supplier requirements; participate in solicitation, evaluation, selection, and scope alignment; and manage performance after award. Confirm that subcontracts, purchase commitments, submittals, material deliveries, invoices, and closeout requirements remain aligned with the project schedule, budget, and contract obligations.

Preconstruction and Business Support. Participate in constructability reviews, planning sessions, proposal development, material takeoffs, procurement pricing, subcontractor scoping, and client presentations when requested. Provide field-informed feedback to improve future estimates, execution plans, production assumptions, and project delivery practices.

Project Controls and Documentation. Use and maintain Autodesk as the project system of record and ensure project information is current, complete, accurate, and fully accessible to all authorized stakeholders.
