Mechanical Assembler

Summary/objective
The Mechanical Assembler position is essential in the construction/ realization of
blueprints and drawings. They also assist in the assembly of system products and should receive
and follow directions well. Mechanical Assemblers are responsible for ensuring that the
equipment used in the assembly line is always functioning properly and well-maintained.
Essential functions

· Read, learn, understand, and interpret drawings and work instructions, written or verbal,
to complete the assembly of system products or components according to established
guidelines and quality standards
· Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to
complete the mechanical assembly of system products or components.
· Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to
established guidelines and quality standards
· Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to
maintenance plans and established procedures.
· Practice problem solving and troubleshooting techniques as part of a team responsible for
realizing continuous improvement to products and processes.
· Cross train to other departments as needed.
Competencies
· Strong communication, reading, and reasoning skills
· Basic mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight, and ability to perform
repetitive tasks
· High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
· Remains calm and in control under pressure
Physical demands
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required education and experience
· High School Diploma or GED
· Minimum 1-2 years relate Mechanical Assembly experience
Preferred education and experience
· Bilingual speaking English/Spanish
