The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.  The Gill Corporation is seeking a Director of Supply Chain. The Director of Supply Chain will direct, coordinate, plan, and organize purchasing, planning, receiving, warehousing, control, and distribution of materials to satisfy production requirements as required to accomplish these goals.  Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities. Responsibilities: Understand, develop and implement strategic objectives, capacity status, constraints, needs for growth in support of corporate goals and providing organizational recommendations as required to accomplish these goals. Monitor and approve expenditures of company assets in terms of both raw materials and company funds. Ensure an effective and efficient scheduling process to maximize facility resources and inventory Manage and track inventories utilizing a material requirements planning (MRP) system and a just-in-time (JIT) operating philosophy. Negotiate with outside suppliers to ensure adequate product availability, fair pricing, and up-to-date marketplace information. Develop and maintain company/supplier partnerships based on mutual trust in order to enhance long term and cost-effective availability of materials. Ensure that all current material related systems are being utilized correctly, through routing, monitoring of feedback report and accuracy verifications. Establish and implement new, or revisions to, existing procedures to increase and achieve materials management efficiency, asset control, and asset utilization. Eliminate waste of raw materials, utilities, manpower, and other company resources wherever possible. Continually assess, develop and staff the subordinate groups with the talent necessary to operate at a high level of accuracy and productivity. Participate in intra-company activities and committees as a representative of the materials department in support of The Gill Corporation's goals and strategic objectives. Coordinate with R&D and Sales to provide new materials for new projects, and review additions and updates to current in-house databases. Supervise periodic physical inventories to update and compare perpetual computer records. APIC’s training is a strong plus. Customer Service oriented. Basic Knowledge of material systems and contract rights and obligations related to purchasing. Understanding of contract related legal matters, basic technical understanding of materials.  Physical Demands: The employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours with periodic breaks. Employee may occasionally stand and/or walk, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area, including between multiple buildings in an industrial campus setting, and talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, suppliers, and others. Must be able to travel to other company sites, customers, suppliers and other events for multiple workdays, as required.  PLEASE NOTE: Certain positions may require the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.  ITAR Requirement: This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
