JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE:Â Â
Under the general supervision of the Plant Manager, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for performing engineering support functions for power plant operations, maintenance, and implementation of plant changes and modifications.

Bachelor’s degree in engineeringÂ
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 or more years of experience
 MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Â
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices, preparation of plan designs and specifications, and material and labor cost estimations.
Ability to oversee the design, construction, installation, start-up, operation, and maintenance of electrical generation equipment.Â
Knowledge to effectively manage several tasks at the same time, perform calculations, and operate various engineering software applications and devices, including but not limited to MS Project, CAD, and MS Office.Â
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices, circuits, generators, power systems, motors, electronics, process control, machine and plant design and specifications, and material and labor cost estimations.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the general public.
Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Â Â Â Â Â Â
May assist crews with the performance of construction and/or maintenance on d Designs power system facilities and equipment, and supports operation/ maintenance of electrical power generating stations.
Prepares drawings, plan specifications, and cost estimations for equipment, materials, and labor needed for the construction and installation of projects.
Performs unit performance tests, calculations, and efficiency evaluations to ensure optimum utilization of power system facilities and equipment to meet customer demand for electrical energy.
Coordinates tests and ongoing construction projects with Company personnel, contractors, and other agencies.
Performs inspection and Quality Assurance/Quality Control functions with regard to construction design, operational standards, equipment maintenance, and safety standards.
Prepares purchase requisitions, work orders, and time sheets, and controls costs relative to budget schedules and contractor operations.
Maintains work file: drawings, costs, calculations, materials used, and other suitable information.
Performs troubleshooting of equipment problems as required.
Responsible for NERC, WECC, and CIP Compliance for the plant.
Valid driver’s license and be in compliance with the Company’s Driving Program policy.
Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations, including employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.Â
Perform other related tasks that are not included, but are within the context of the duties defined.
