JOB SUMMARY
As an IT Help Desk Specialist supporting the Joint Modernization Command G6 office, you will be the primary point of contact for technical support for over 250 military, civilian, and contractor personnel. This role is critical in ensuring mission readiness both in Garrison and during high-stakes Live Field Experiment events. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues while maintaining compliance with Client's regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for desktop computers, laptops, printers, phones, and peripherals via phone, email, and in-person.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10 operating systems, Microsoft Office 2013/365 Suites, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Resolve connectivity issues within the Fort Bliss Campus Area Network (FBCAN) and ensure stable environments for JMC and TRIAD members.
- Provide dedicated IT support during Live Field Experiments (twice per year), which may include travel to various locations across the U.S. or overseas.
- Manage and resolve approximately 50+ tickets monthly, ensuring all work orders are documented and completed according to contract performance standards.
- Adhere to all Army, installation, and OSHA regulations, ensuring all systems remain secure and operational within the JMC footprint.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Candidate must possess the following certifications and skills:
- IA Baseline Certification: Current CompTIA Security+ (CE).
- Hardware Certification: Current CompTIA A+.
- Computing Environment (CE): Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) in Windows 10 or a current equivalent Client-approved Windows computing certificate.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, and network peripherals.
- Ability to support field experiments at East/West Fort Bliss and travel as required for mission-specific events.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to successfully undergo a federal background investigation and meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Client Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience working within a military G6 or Network Enterprise Center (NEC) environment.
- Familiarity with the TRIAD organizational structure and coordination processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide high-level customer service to military leadership and civilian staff.
- Adaptability to work in both a professional office setting and rugged field environments during experiments.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs (servers, printers, workstations).
