Assesses the appropriateness of the physician's medication orders. Provides accurate and appropriate drug information to health care professionals. Coordinates or performs functions detailed in the compounding and dispensing procedures. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age related needs.QualificationsMinimum Position Requirements Work Experience:   No previous work experience required. One (1) or more years work experience in a Pediatric Hospital preferred. License/Registration/Certification: Current Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas. Current Sterile Compounding Certification Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved Sterile Compounding Certification or letter from an accredited school of pharmacy confirming Sterile Compounding Certification with a minimum 20 hours of training completed Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description Education and Training:     Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy. 12 hours of Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved continuing education per year. Required Skills: Knowledge and experience with UD, I.V. additives and therapeutics. Knowledge of law, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security. Advanced computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
