This positionĀ is responsible forĀ the effectiveĀ utilizationĀ of materials,Ā equipment,Ā and systems inĀ theĀ assembly of simple to moderately complex mechanical products. This positionĀ is responsible forĀ theĀ first operation of the Switchboard line andĀ is responsible forĀ taking raw material (sheet metal) andĀ forming/assembling cabinetry.Ā

  • High School Education or GEDĀ requiredĀ 
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and BOM’sĀ 
  • Ability toĀ lift upĀ to 26 pounds on a regular basisĀ 
  • Experience with basic hand tools, air tools,Ā gages,Ā and torque wrenchesĀ 
  • 1-2 years mechanical assembly experienceĀ

  • Read and understand simple to moderately complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, bill ofĀ materials, and schematicsĀ 
  • Assembles medium sized toĀ very largeĀ partsĀ 
  • Takes raw material and builds the cabinetry unit structureĀ 
  • Performs basic to moderately complex troubleshooting, which may include quality issues,Ā engineeringĀ issuesĀ or materials issuesĀ 
  • Continuously lifts parts weighing up toĀ 26Ā pounds, using alternative methods of liftingĀ weight if beyondĀ 26Ā poundsĀ (Includes overhead crane, lift devices, etc.)Ā 
  • Utilizes a wide variety of hand tools, air tools, and measuring equipmentĀ 
  • Utilizes computer system for clocking start and finish of job, pulling prints, pulling BOM’sĀ and job specificationsĀ 
  • Responsible for own product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and careĀ 
  • Evaluates and performs basic troubleshooting, and obtains support from supervision, andĀ engineering as neededĀ 
  • Establishes andĀ maintainsĀ a safe andĀ healthfulĀ working environmentĀ in accordance withĀ OSHA requirementsĀ
