Technica is seeking a Safety Officer for support on Fort Bliss, TX

Description:

  • Must comply with applicable federal and state laws and enforce safety regulations.
  • Compile and submit weekly status reports.
  • Versed in local and state OSHA safety requirements also a plus.
  • Must be available to work long shifts in adverse conditions (heat, rain, nights and weekends) as required to meet contract deliverables.
  • Complete inspection checks on work performed in all of our facilities.
  • Fire and safety inspections in all facilities that we maintain.
  • Building inspections for deficiencies in all of our facilities.
  • Personnel tool inventory to be performed quarterly with all our technicians.
  • Process auditing to ensure that processes are being kept in alignment with our SOP.
  • Fleet vehicle safety inspections performed monthly to ensure all employees are safe.
  • Inspections of all SAP locations.
  • Ability to perform incident investigations and fill out proper documents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizen
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must submit to pass a DHS Position of Public Trust Background Investigation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to understand procedures.
  • Must have 5 years in experience in safety and environment.
  • Must be able to communicate the English language effectively, both orally and written.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA, DOT regulations.
  • Ability to process and identify code violations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to do scheduled after hours duty.
  • Ability to complete OSHA 300 Log.
  • Must be able to work with others and be professional at times.
  • Transportation and Freight background
