Description

  

Position Summary:  

The role of the Warehouse & Operations Support Specialist is to support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager with various types of deliverables that help the organization achieve revenue and profit objectives.


Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure a smooth transition of product from operations to the warehouse.

· Ensure accurate order packing & picking of product meets customer’s expectation for each order.

· Assist Warehouse & Logistic Manager to ensure ample stock to cover existing and pending sales orders.

· Ensure work orders are closed and moved to warehouse staging inventory locations.

· Initiates & completes applicable transactions within the Epicor MRP system.

· Production & Engineering Support: Follow product work instructions to complete custom OEM products with configurations and option installations for both sales & RMA orders.

· Inspect all Radios Configurations to ensure the meet specs for specific customer orders.

· Troubleshoot with ENG on use and problems with the following: firmware, software, configurations & options set-ups on radios.

· Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Requirements

  

Knowledge & Skills:

· Proficient with various Microsoft Office Applications; Demonstrated ability to use a Business system (ERP) to complete planning, receiving, and shipping transactions.

· Shipping experience using parcel carries, LTL and FTL (FedEx, UPS, Southeastern, Estes, etc)

· Able to operate a stock picker, forklift, and pallet jack; obtain forklift in-house safety certification.

· Understanding of configuration, testing and option set-up software on LMR units. 

· Lean Manufacturing (or Six Sigma) experience; experience managing material flow via use of Kanban systems.

· Possesses excellent written, verbal communication, and people skills.

· Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized, and able to work with little to no supervision.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Able to work independently and as part of a team.

· Identify and recommend efficiency improvements in warehouse operations.

· Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to ensure operational excellence.


Qualifications:

· High School and 3-4 years of experience in warehousing & inventory control; additionally, shipping parcel, LTL, and FTL, Dangerous Goods certification/experience also preferred.


Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Work typically takes place in a warehouse environment, and it is requirable to:

· Standing – must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time.

· Lifting – must know how and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Handling – air powered stapler, pallet jack.

· Reaching – supplies for shipping.

· Carrying - supplies for shipping and shipping products.

· Walking – within various areas in the building.

· Able to lift 100 pounds using a hand truck.

· Operate a PC and other office equipment.

· Travel between floors and office buildings may be required.

· Environmental conditions such as: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals.
