Construction Banker I

Summary

Provides potential and existing customers with construction financing needs and services through prudent lending practices by adhering to Bank lending policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Develop loan business in the Residential Construction industry to include lot/interim construction and subdivision development; calling on potential and existing clients
• Compiles and analyzes credit data and offers recommendation for approval through loan presentation to loan committee
• Risk management of departmental loan portfolio to include servicing existing relationships through renewals of guidance lines, new loan opportunities, exception management, and full relationship banking
• Orders appraisals, credit reports, and other necessary information as needed
• Inspects construction for conformance with approved plans
• Ensures that construction loan files include complete documentation for inspection and payment receipts
• Controls disbursements of construction loan proceeds as work on project(s) progresses
• Oversee draw process during construction phase
• Collection and workout of non-performing loans
• Contact title companies, insurance agents, and accountants when necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, Skills

• College degree in finance, business or related field
• Minimum 3 years related lending experience or combination of experience and education
• Proven ability to follow standard policies and procedures in lending practices; make appropriate decisions regarding client request
• Ability to handle more complex transactions
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, organize work, and set priorities
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications

• Standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Office setting
• May require travel to branch locations, client locations and/or client construction sites
• May require attendance at events after normal business hours
