Fabrication Associate IIÂ Weekend shift Friday Saturdy & Sunday

POSITION SUMMARY: Â
This position is responsible for the forming, cutting, sharpening, piercing, welding, and/or painting of fabricated materials for the use of a final product. Â
SKILL (Education, Experience, Initiative and Ingenuity)Â
- Must be able to take and successfully pass an appropriate Work Keys assessmentÂ
- 1-2 years’ experience in area assigned to (Painting, Welding, Fabrication)Â
- Ability to read and understand blueprintsÂ
- Ability to work independentlyÂ
- Good understanding of basic shop math and measuring techniquesÂ
- Expertise with basic hand tools, air tools, gages and torque wrenchesÂ
- Expertise in using hoist and cranesÂ
EFFORT (Physical Demand, Mental or Visual Demand)Â
- Must have excellent natural or corrected visionÂ
- Job cannot be performed alternating sitting and standingÂ
- Requires ability to reach overhead, lift up to 26 pounds repeatedly, be on feet for long hours, stooping, bending, pulling and pushingÂ
- Must be capable of working independently using initiative and problems solving skillsÂ
RESPONSIBILITY (Equipment or Process, Material or Product, Safety of Others, Work of Others)Â
- Responsible for own product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and careÂ
- Evaluates and performs basic troubleshooting, and obtains support from supervision, and engineering as neededÂ
- May periodically provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups relative to product improvementÂ
- Establishes and maintains a safe and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirementsÂ
- Performs other tasks as may be requested to assure the effective and continuous utilization of assetsÂ
- Read and understand moderately complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and schematicsÂ
Chemicals:Â
- In support and coordination with EHS and Manager, performs testing and monitoring different chemical components and properties of paint line water tanks (alkalinity, pressure, temperature)Â
- In support and coordination with EHS and Manager, Responsible for replenishment and maintenance of chemicals and materials of the areaÂ
- In support and coordination with EHS and Manager, Responsible of water treatment and disposal systemÂ
- In support and coordination with EHS and Manager, coordinates safety of all employees within their area of responsibility in terms of ergonomics, chemical use, tool management, OSHA incident investigations and be a key part of the improvement process for safety improvements in the area.Â
Fabrication Shop:Â
- Forms, cuts, and pierces metal to form fabricated assembly unitsÂ
- Performs a variety of operations to include but not limited to: Cutting, Piercing, Forming, etc.Â
- Utilizes a wide variety of hand tools, air tools, and measuring equipmentÂ
- Operates moderately complex to very complex fabrication machinery, using digital/electronic controlsÂ
- Responsible for movement of materials within the cabinet shop areaÂ
Paint Booth:Â
- Operates complex to moderately complex paint spraying equipment. Â
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicalsÂ
- Responsible for storage and care of chemicalsÂ
- Mixes and prepares paintÂ
- Continuously loads and unloads partsÂ
Welding:Â
- Performs moderately complex welding operations.Â
- Utilizes a variety of welding equipment, ensuring all safety measures are used.Â
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures and perform work in a confined area.Â
- Moves parts in and out of Welding areaÂ
JOB CONDITIONS (Working Conditions, Hazards)Â
- May use hazardous chemicals.Â
- Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.Â
- Hearing protection is required. Other specialized safety PPE such as face mask, gloves, apron, hard hat, face shields, and safety appropriate work clothing may also be requiredÂ
