Room Attendant
Position Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned hotel areas in accordance with established housekeeping standards and procedures. This position plays an important role in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every guest.
The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and professional, with the ability to respond to guest requests and concerns while maintaining guest privacy and hotel security.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Enter and prepare guest rooms for cleaning in accordance with established procedures.
- Make beds and replace linens, towels, and other guestroom items as needed.
- Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and surfaces throughout guest rooms.
- Clean and sanitize guest bathrooms, including tubs, showers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Clean closets and ensure guestroom areas are organized and presentable.
- Vacuum and maintain carpets and flooring.
- Replenish guestroom amenities and complimentary items according to hotel standards.
- Deliver and retrieve items provided for guest use, such as irons and ironing boards.
- Inspect guest rooms to ensure they are properly cleaned, secured, and ready for occupancy.
- Maintain the security and privacy of guest rooms and guest belongings.
- Perform rotation and deep-cleaning duties, including spring cleaning and other special cleaning projects.
- Clean assigned corridors, floors, bedrooms, and other designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas and housekeeping equipment.
- Protect hotel property and report any damage, maintenance concerns, or lost-and-found items according to established procedures.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest calls, requests, and complaints within the assigned area.
- Enter guest rooms to provide cleaning and turndown services as required and authorized.
- Follow all hotel housekeeping standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Work toward achieving and exceeding guest satisfaction goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, fingering, and repetitive movements. Employees must have adequate hearing and visual acuity to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on occasion.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding housekeeping tasks throughout the workday.

Education
AÂ secondary school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
Experience
Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a fast-paced hotel environment and may involve frequent interaction with guests, housekeeping team members, and other hotel departments. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude while consistently meeting cleanliness and guest service standards.
