JobĀ Summary:

Millennium-Space Systems is looking for aĀ Launch System Integration EngineerĀ (early-career) that canĀ integrate MSS spacecraft to select launchĀ or hostĀ vehicles, coordinate processing at the launch base, and conduct launch and ascent operations.  Manage the interface between MSS and the other launch campaign stakeholders including the Launch Vehicle Contractor (LVC)Ā or Host Vehicle Contractor, the Launch Range (Range), launch base processing facilities, day of launch tracking and data and communications services, and other participants. 

This position's internal job isĀ Systems Engineer. Our team is currently hiring forĀ Level 1-2.

Position Responsibilities:

  • LeadĀ all activities related to the launch vehicle/host vehicle integration and launch of our spacecraftĀ 

  • Develop and manage integrated schedules and plans

  • Own and manage interface control documentation (ICDs) including requirements development and specifications, and verification

  • DevelopĀ launch baseĀ safety and operations plans and secure approval from the launch range authority

  • Develop payload processing facility requirements

  • AssureĀ transportation for the SV and associated GSEĀ 

  • Coordinate and manageĀ LV/Host integration at the launch base, or host facility

  • Plan,Ā coordinateĀ and execute day of launch activities with all participating contractors and agencies

  • Engage with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts across a wide range of technical and programmatic disciplines

  • Support launch vehicleĀ selectionĀ and compatibility trades when applicable

  • Become theĀ MSS knowledge base for all launch and launch integration related subject matterĀ 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.Ā A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineeringĀ and 1 year of related experience is required

  • 1 or more years experience in spacecraftĀ launch operations, flight operations,Ā integrationĀ and test,Ā orĀ groundĀ processingĀ operationsĀ 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year of program level experience interfacing with program customersĀ andĀ external contractorsĀ 

  • Hosted payload integration/operations

  • 2+Ā years of experience working with space launch community stakeholders including launch base range safety, launch vehicle contractors,Ā host vehicle contractors,Ā launch base processing facilities and US Government space launch organizations

  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security clearanceĀ

Summary pay range:Ā 

Level 1: $66,000 – $117,000

Level 2: $82,000 - $145,000
