The Boeing Company is seeking a motivated and talented Software Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA.
The position is for the design, development and integration of software products for satellite test and other space applications. The position provides an opportunity work with experienced, interdisciplinary teams to develop or modify test systems in order to meet the challenging test requirements of our business partners and customers.
The engineering function of Boeing Test and Evaluation El Segundo (BT&E-ES) creates automated test systems and the hardware products used by our test operations teams onsite and at satellite launches. For test systems and hardware products, our group is accountable for all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, requirements and design, integration, test, verification and product maintenance.
We are searching for candidates that value the skills development that occurs when working a variety of diverse assignments, alongside system architects and electrical engineers in a collaborative team environment. Engineers must maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various software products; develop detailed designs of varying levels of complexity for special test equipment (STE); conduct various methods of testing and verification of special test equipment (STE); provide engineering support and change control throughout the lifecycle of delivered products; and implement Model Based Engineering (MBE).
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Mid-level and Senior Level Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops code and integrates complex software components into a fully functional system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, execute the test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
Analyzes and supports factory support issues related to software/hardware integration
Develop test architecture for software products (Test Executives, T&C Engine, Tools)
Develops and executes software project and process plans, implements policies and procedures
Develop new interfaces for new instruments and systems in C, C+, C#, Angular/ React, .net and other object-oriented languages
Enhance test case architecture for Bus and RF product testing
Build software environment for testing in the factory and oversee smooth execution of testing
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience working in full software development life-cycleÂ
Experience in software programming with C, C++, C#, Angular/React, .NET coding, debug and development
Experience in shell scripting languages including Python
Experience developing verification requirements, verification plans and test procedures
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Active Top-Secret Security Clearance
Experience in Object Oriented Application Development
Knowledge of telemetry and command formats, timing requirements for satellite communication and processing
Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and/or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including experience in a configuration-managed environment and compliance with standards
Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) measurements and testing

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.Â
Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3): $102,850 - $139,150
Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
