POSITION SUMMARY:
The function of the Quality Engineer is to perform a variety of engineering assignments with key stakeholders designed to facilitate the control and improvement of product quality.
 JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- High School diploma or GED required; vocational school equivalent acceptableÂ
- Degree from an accredited engineering program or related 4-year degree requiredÂ
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferredÂ
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant, practical experience, preferably in a high-precision CNC and/or assembly environmentÂ
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facilityÂ
- Experience participating in or leading multidisciplinary teams in problem-solving projects using root cause analysis (RCA) tools and developing effective corrective actionsÂ
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong communication and active listening skills with internal teams, external suppliers, and subcontractorsÂ
- Ability to write technical reports and business correspondenceÂ
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skillsÂ
- Proficiency in advanced mathematics and statisticsÂ
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use standard business and quality systemsÂ
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsÂ
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principlesÂ
- Knowledge of process capability (Cp/Cpk)Â
- Application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) for both incoming inspection (external suppliers) and internal manufacturing processesÂ
- Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Equipment (CMM) and related technologies, including scanners, vision systems, and other standard metrology equipmentÂ
- Understanding of precision machine shop production techniques and processesÂ
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionÂ
- Knowledge of firearms is a plus
 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Â
- Apply strong knowledge of quality systems to develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes and products, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and ISO 9001 requirements while supporting annual business goalsÂ
- Collaborate with design engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and purchasing teams to resolve issues related to customer complaints, product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production qualityÂ
- Develop and maintain quality control plans incorporating statistical process control, analysis, and reporting of results and trendsÂ
- Maintain and improve the quality program to ensure conformity of purchased materials and componentsÂ
- Manage supplier quality assurance qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance monitoringÂ
- Partner with engineering teams to establish quality procedures and guidelines for new productsÂ
- Review existing products and develop or update quality assurance procedures and related documentationÂ
- Establish and maintain inspection criteria, inspection reports, and inspection proceduresÂ
- Implement quality assurance procedures during pre-production and production startup phasesÂ
- Work closely with production supervisors to communicate and enforce quality requirementsÂ
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate quality records and documentationÂ
- Conduct internal audits and prepare audit reportsÂ
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by leadershipÂ
