Job DetailsJob Location: Electra Memorial Hospital - Electra, TX 76360Education Level: 4 Year DegreeJob Category: Accounting  JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the financial operations.  SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and general ledger accounts. Reconcile balance sheet accounts. Monitor and analyze revenue generated from patient services, insurance reimbursements, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer sources. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), healthcare-specific financial regulations, Uniform Guidance, state grant requirements, and organizational financial policies. Assist with audits and coordinate requests from auditors. Prepare and analyze departmental income statements to support financial reporting and budgeting. Monitor and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Track all grant revenues and expenditures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements. Monitor grant budgets and spending across multiple projects and departments. Coordinate financial components of grant applications, renewals, and closeout activities. Maintain documentation supporting grant expenditures for audits and monitoring visits. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations impacting healthcare financial operations. Prepare supporting documentation for annual financial audits and grant-specific audits. Assist program managers in budget development, planning, revisions, and forecasting. Generate and submit financial reports for management, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, grantors, and funding agencies. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard grant funds and ensure accurate financial reporting. Complete special projects directed by the CFO. Maintain a current knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations issued by local, state, and federal agencies. Interact with employees and maintain a positive atmosphere and participative work environment. OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS: Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis. Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.  EXPERIENCE: Three years’ experience in accounting or financial management required. One year experience in healthcare accounting, hospital accounting, or medical billing preferred. PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS: Knowledge of accounting practices, along with proficiency in accounting software. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, along with excellent communication, time management, and organizational abilities. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processes is also required to support organizational objectives. LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Long periods of sitting required.
