Job DetailsJob Location: Electra Memorial Hospital - Electra, TX 76360Job Category: Entry Level Prepares nutritional food for hospital patients, employees, ad visitors. Suggests menu items and assists in the requisition of food and supplies. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment. SCHEDULE 10:30AM to 7:00PM Rotating days Every other weekend ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide food service operation. Properly prepare, serve, and store food in accordance with accredited agencies and department policies and procedures. Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation at the end of each shift. Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and appropriate regulatory requirements. Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of equipment and their safe use. Deliver meals and food trays to patients according to schedule established by the department. Understand and apply the sanitation procedures needed to provide a safe and healthy environment. Monitor pantry stock and inform Dietary Director of items running low and in need or re-ordering. Knowledge of cooking procedures. OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS: Work well with other employees. EXPERIENCE: One year experience of institutional food preparation preferred. PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS: Knowledge of cooking and food handling procedures. Effective oral and written communication skills. LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS: Current food handler’s card. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties of the position require extended periods of walking and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching for food items and equipment. Pushing and pulling of food carts and lifting up to 30 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions and directions.
