Job DetailsJob Location: Electra Healthcare Center - Electra, TX 76360  Under the supervision of the established physical therapist, provides physical therapy treatment, documents treatments and charges, and assists in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Instruct, prepare, and reassure residents of treatment being performed. Perform treatments on residents at their scheduled times. Monitor and ensure resident safety during treatments. Transport residents in a safe manner. Provide care appropriate for the residents served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interpret data on the resident’s status to identify residents’ requirements relative to their age specific needs and provide care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Maintain records associated with resident's treatments. Record treatment results and progress notes accurately and legibly in resident charts. Communicate information to supervisor on resident’s treatment progress as directed. Assist in maintaining logs and reports. Assist in maintaining stock levels of supplies and required equipment. Ensure inventory is adequately stocked with supplies necessary for efficient operation. Perform the sterilization of equipment and work area. Perform minor and preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure equipment is properly stored after use. Report equipment problems to Operations Director.  OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS: Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis. Work well with other employees. Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Follow standard precautions when providing direct resident care. QualificationsEDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program required. EXPERIENCE: One year experience as a physical therapy assistant preferred. PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS: Knowledge of physical therapy procedures and equipment. Effective oral and written communication skills.  Familiar with operating computers and ability to utilize computer systems. LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS: Current Physical Therapy Assistant License in the state of Texas or certification/licensure eligible required. Current CPR certification required. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Repeated bending, stooping, and reaching. Pushing and pulling up to 150 pounds and carrying up to 75 pounds. Lifting to 75 pounds and heavier lifting in transferring or supporting who may suddenly become weak or helpless. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. Â
