ITW Shakeproof is a leading manufacturer of innovative fastening solutions serving automotive and industrial OEMs and their tier suppliers. Position Summary:

The Quality Lab Lead ensures product conformity at final inspection while maintaining verification documentation.

  • Perform final inspection on parts using a variety of inspection equipment.

  • Verification of products received from outside services (i.e., heat treating, plating, etc.) via testing and verification of supplied documentation.

  • Maintain job verification documentation.

  • Support Gage Calibration System (ensure all gages are available & calibrated).

  • Sort mixed/non-conforming parts as needed.

  • Data entry.

  • Prepare certifications for shipment.

  • Initiate and follow up on non-conformances.

  • Provide support to manufacturing, sales, and other quality personnel when needed.

  • Daily housekeeping of work area and Quality office including filing of documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skill, Education and Experience

  • Must be able to maintain focus and accuracy through repetitive product inspection.

  • Effective problem solving/prioritizing skills required.

  • Ability to use and care of precision measuring tools (i.e., micrometers, calipers, comparator, attribute gages).

  • Must be proficient in interpreting blueprints/part drawings.

  • Basic knowledge of algebra, geometry, decimals, fractions, and metric/English conversion.

  • Must be able to use and be familiar with Word, Excel, and email.

  • Must be able to work in a moderately clean manufacturing environment.
