Chef Trainer

General Description:
To maintain a profitable food service and catering program; to train members in food service and customer service.

Education/Experience:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or relevant industry experience.

Food Safety Manager Certificate Required: ServSafe. 
Experience working with and training adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

Skills/Qualification:

• Ability to maintain appropriate relationships with people with disabilities and at-risk adolescents utilizing normalization principles
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of CAU staff, members’ families, and within the community
• Ability to express oneself, both in writing and verbally, in a comprehensive manner, using the English language
• Good planning and organization skills
• Knowledge of food preparation and nutrition
• Ability to be resourceful and work independently
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
• Ability to problem-solve
• Ability to deliver effective training programs
• Ability to maintain and analyze budgets and interpret and analyze financial reports
• Demonstrate responsible leadership, mentoring and role-modeling
• Ability to effectively supervise employees and delegate responsibilities appropriately
• Access to an automobile vehicle, valid driver’s license and safe driving record required

Job Task:
1. Provides effective supervision to staff and trainees
2. Manages and maintains successful operation of the Agency’s cafeteria
3. Maintains appropriate staff/member interactions
4. Conducts time studies to determine training/operation standards
5. Provide food service training to members
6. Complies with all health and safety mandates for the cafeteria
7. Participates in the Agency’s Periodic Service Review and other quality assurance programs
8. Ensures sound program financial management
9. Cooperate with any Agency, DDD, and DCP&P investigation and inspection
10. Ensures compliance with wearing a mask when mandated by State, Federal, and Licensing authorities during a public health crisis/pandemic.
11. All other duties as assigned
