JOB TITLE:                HOIST PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

 

                                    Exempt Position

            

REPORTS TO:           Manager – Hoist Production

 

DEPARTMENT:         Production 

 

BASIC FUNCTION: 

 

Oversee the operations and employees within the Production Department. Work closely with Production Control Department to schedule the completion of manufacturing work orders. 

            

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitor Production to ensure completion of scheduled manufacturing work orders. 

 

  • Provide training and guidance for Production employees. 

 

  • Write and update Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs) for Production processes.

 

  • Work with other departments within the company regarding issues relative to Production. 

 

  • Handle disciplinary issues with Production. 

 

  • Enforce the compliance of Production employees with shop safety requirements. 

 

  • Complete performance appraisal reviews for employees within Production. 

              

  • Identify methods and processes to increase efficiency of the operations within Production. 

 

  • Investigate and correct Production related errors.

 

  • Assure that Production is achieving company standards for finished product quality.

 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.

 

  • Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.

 

  • Perform other duties as requested by company management.

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 

 

  • 3-5 years of Production Supervisor experience or similar preferred experience.

             

 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

  • Management / Supervisory skills. 

 

  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.

 

  • Ability to work independently and to multi-task.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

 

  • Combination of sitting / standing / walking 7+ hours per day.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Ability to speak, read and understand English.

 

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude. 

 

  • Conduct all interactions with customers (internal and external), vendors, field 

             sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive,

             courteous and respectful manner.

 

  • Regular attendance is an essential element of the job.  Unplanned absences 

             have the potential to impair the operation of the department and diminish 

              the effectiveness of the company.
