Job Summary

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing detailed diagnostics, routine maintenance, and high-quality repairs on residential heating and cooling systems. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to our local homeowners—safely evaluating their systems, explaining comfort and efficiency solutions honestly, and performing the mechanical work needed to keep their homes comfortable year-round.

Essential Job Duties

  • Diagnostics & Repairs: Perform thorough system evaluations to identify performance issues, airflow concerns, or component failures (compressors, motors, electrical, and refrigerant systems).  

  • Maintenance & Tune-ups: Execute seasonal maintenance to keep systems operating safely, cleanly, and at peak energy efficiency.

  • Customer Advisory: Clearly explain diagnostic findings to homeowners and offer straightforward repair or replacement options without using aggressive high-pressure sales tactics.  

  • Property Protection: Complete all services using protective drop cloths, shoe covers, and clean-up practices to leave the customer’s property immaculate.

  • Documentation: Keep your assigned service truck well-stocked and document all findings and job notes electronically via tablet.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of residential HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.

  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (required to operate company service vehicles).

  • Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification is required.

  • Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.  

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to operate digital field equipment (tablets, mobile phones).  

  • Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 75 lbs. routinely throughout the workday.

  • Comfort working in varying conditions, including attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments across seasonal Kentucky temperatures.  

  • Ability to safely climb ladders and step stools as required by the job site.
