JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, is responsible for the safety, instruction and training of children participating in the Elk Grove Swim Team.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct daily practices based on a training regiment as directed by the Head Swim Team Coach.
  • Recommend swimmer’s placement in swim meets.
  • Assist in preparing meet line-ups.
  • Instruction of swimming skills needed for team participation.
  • Attend meets at direction of Head Swim Team Coach. 
  • Swipe in and out daily and provide Head Swim Team Coach with timesheet for meets.
  • Attend meets at direction of Head Swim Team Coach.
  • Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
  • Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
  • Maintain clean areas after daily practices and meets.
  • Continue professional development through continuing education.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Flexibility, communication skills and patience.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in teams and with others.
  • Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Safety Training for Swim Coaches.    
  • Previous competitive swimming experience.
