About the Role:

Provide specialized early childhood special education services to preschool-aged children with diverse developmental and learning needs within local school districts throughout the Elk Grove area. In this role, you'll work closely with families, multidisciplinary teams, and district staff to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote communication, social-emotional growth, independence, and school readiness.

As an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized and small-group instruction in inclusive and specialized preschool settings while implementing IEP goals and supporting each child's developmental milestones. What You'll Do:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction for preschool-aged children with developmental delays and disabilities
• Develop and implement IEP goals, accommodations, and specialized instructional strategies
• Create engaging, play-based, developmentally appropriate lessons that promote learning and school readiness
• Support children's communication, social-emotional, cognitive, adaptive, and early academic development
• Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, behavior specialists, and other multidisciplinary team members
• Partner with families to support student progress and reinforce developmental goals across school and home environments
• Monitor, collect, and document student progress toward developmental and IEP goals
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive student evaluations and educational planning
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence, positive behavior, and meaningful peer interactions
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
   

Must Have:

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Early Childhood Special Education or Mild/Moderate Support Needs with appropriate authorization) or eligibility
• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• DOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance and TB clearance, as required by the state
• Ability to develop and implement developmentally appropriate instructional strategies for young children with diverse learning needs
   

Preferred:

• Experience teaching preschool-aged children in an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE/ECE) setting
• Knowledge of child development, preschool curriculum, and evidence-based early intervention practices
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for young children
• Familiarity with special education documentation systems (e.g., IEPpro)
• Strong communication, collaboration, classroom management, and organizational skills
