Job DetailsJob Location: 9728 KENT ST - ELK GROVE, CA 95624Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayPosition Summary The Membership Communications Lead supports the Communications Manager by overseeing the planning, development, and delivery of communications to Wilton Rancheria citizens. This position is responsible for maintaining the membership communications calendar, producing newsletters and notices, managing the Tribe’s membership portal, and coordinating engagement campaigns. The Membership Communications Lead ensures that information is accurate, timely, and aligned with the Tribe’s brand and cultural values, strengthening transparency and engagement between Tribal government and its citizens.      Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain a membership communications calendar of newsletters, notices, and engagement campaigns. Draft, edit, and distribute communications for print, email, and digital platforms. Maintain and update the Tribe’s membership portal/SharePoint site to ensure accurate and accessible information. Coordinate internal review and approval processes for all membership-facing content. Support event promotion and provide on-site communications support, including registration, signage, and materials. Capture photos, video, and content at events for use in newsletters and other communications. Create and manage engagement campaigns, surveys, and interactive content to encourage citizen participation. Ensure brand consistency, quality, and adherence to communications guidelines across all membership communications. Collaborate with communications staff and other departments to support clear, citizen-friendly messaging. Provide regular updates to the Communications Manager on membership communications activities and outcomes. Other duties as assigned.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to write, edit, and proofread communications materials with accuracy and clarity. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital communications platforms (e.g., SharePoint, email campaign tools). Knowledge of event planning and promotion. Capacity to work collaboratively with internal departments and external vendors. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and respond to emerging communications needs. Sensitivity to working with Tribal communities and diverse stakeholders. Flexibility to support events that occur during evenings or weekends. Qualification Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in communications, membership/community engagement, or a related field. Demonstrated experience producing newsletters, email campaigns, or member communications. Experience with digital platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar). Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, maintain a safe driving record, and be insurable under the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy. Must pass background screening prior to employment. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug testing during employment. Must be able to travel occasionally for training and conferences. Must be able to work evening hours and weekends on occasion. Hiring Preference Policy  Among qualified applicants, preference is given to Wilton Rancheria Tribal Members, then to spouses of Wilton Rancheria Tribal Members, and to other Native Americans. All applicants claiming preference must submit verification of their Native American heritage.
