Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Applicable Shift Hours (Additional time as needed to supervise overtime)

 

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

The Supervisor is responsible for all activities on the shift. He/she is responsible for his/her shift’s production personnel, quality, and quantity, of parts produced, and both internal and external customer satisfaction. The Supervisor must ensure that employees adhere to Company policies and procedures, follow standard work instructions, and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient, effective, and safe as possible.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise, and direct, employees, including team leads, in order to meet or exceed customer requirements and business objectives (80% of the shift spent on the production floor).
  • Ensure safety, ergonomic, and health practices and procedures are being followed at all times.
  • Ensure thorough job training, and cross-training is provided to all employees as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate, timely completion of all required production and personnel documentation.
  • Use data driven measurables to track productivity and performance.
  • Support continuous improvement activities through identification of safety, quality or process improvements, and lead problem-solving efforts to address identified opportunities.
  • Maintain proper adherence to manufacturing best practices, single part flow objectives, proper documentation, standardized work, and 5S as required.
  • Review daily shipping schedule requirements and notify management of any shortages to the expected build schedules.
  • Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.


Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

  • Several years of progressively responsible experience with safety, quality, (IATF 16949) housekeeping, and productivity improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess superior interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of tooling, robotic welding, and work cell assembly is essential.
