Description

Purpose of Position

Associates will work both independently and as part of a team to meet production goals while ensuring safety and efficiency on the manufacturing floor. This role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards. Successful candidates will be dependable, safety-focused, and able to adapt to a fast-paced production environment that values teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate the extruder (front and back) to produce rubber butyl products according to established work instructions
  • Maintain a continuous flow of extruded butyl material to meet required cycle times and production goals
  • Operate light machinery, hand tools, and automated equipment safely and efficiently
  • Inspect materials and finished rubber butyl products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Complete required production paperwork and computer entries accurately
  • Work independently and with team members to meet production goals
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members about production or quality issues
  • Identify and report process inefficiencies or equipment concerns to support continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to visually identify defects, imperfections, or      inconsistencies in rubber butyl products
  • Reliable attendance
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Basic Computer Skills

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred 

Physical Demands

The Extrusion department involves exposure to heat and fumes. Physical demands include continuous standing, frequent walking, occasional stooping, and continuous tool use. Employees must lift and carry weights ranging from 10 - 61 lbs., with consistent hand activity and gripping throughout the workday.
