Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Assistant Intern is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations. This role provides practical training in accounts payable processes, administrative support, and professional office procedures within a collaborative business environment.
The intern will work closely with the accounting and finance team to learn day-to-day accounts payable responsibilities while developing organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. No prior accounting experience is required; training will be provided.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with processing vendor invoices and payment requests
- Review invoices for accuracy and proper documentation
- Enter invoice and payment information into accounting systems
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper financial records
- Assist with filing, scanning, and document management
- Support the reconciliation of invoices and purchase orders
- Help monitor payment due dates and vendor communications
- Respond professionally to internal and external inquiries
- Assist with data entry and administrative accounting tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings
- Perform other administrative or accounting support duties as assigned
