RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Safely, accurately and efficiently perform all operations required to complete the rough assembly of brass instruments.
  2. Properly and carefully handle all parts and components.
  3. Routinely inspects assigned work to ensure compliance with established job standards.
  4. Complies with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  5. Required to correctly select, carefully move, lift and maneuver all raw materials, tooling, work in progress, fixtures and completed parts from designated stock locations to assigned work areas.
  6. Safely and accurately set-up lathes, tooling and all assembly fixtures to meet required dimensions and tolerances.
  7. Required to trim inside and outside of slide tubes to specific cut-off points and lengths utilizing a lathe. Required to insert and secure individual tubes into the spindle chuck of assigned lathe, and to execute the operation of the lathe.
  8. Complete various assemblies either by using the designated assembly fixture, or by carefully aligning each component part prior to soldering.
  9. Adjust, manipulate and bend specific areas of each named component in order to achieve superior slide action, and minimal resistance between mating parts.
  10. Make visual and dimensional check of parts processed according to prescribed methods and measures.
  11. The correct safety protection and protocol must be utilized for each assigned operation.
  12. Required to maintain an appropriate, clean, and safe work environment.
  13. Complies with Eastlake Policies and Procedures, and with functional and cosmetic quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Regular Attendance.
  2. Manufacturing Process Aptitude.
  3. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measure devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Use of related manufacturing equipment and operating controls.
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.
  6. Ability to sit or stand for 8 consecutive hours.
  7. Responsible for properly and carefully handling all instruments and components.
  8. Required to properly dispose of or recycle any scrap material generated by any assigned production operation, and are required to maintain an appropriate, clean and safe work environment.
  9. Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.
  10. Complies with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  11. Exposure to manufacturing environment, including dust, noise and vibration.
