THIS ROLE HAS THE OPTION TO BE 2ND SHIFT (M-F, 2 PM - 10 PM) or 3RD SHIFT (S-TH, 10 PM - 6 AM).

The Janitor is responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties, keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition.

Essential Accountabilities

Empty and clean all waste containers daily (more frequently if necessary)
Remove wastepaper and garbage from the premises to selected area; damp wipe containers.
Empty and clean all ashtrays, monitor all sand urns supply and restore sand as required
Dust all image frames, door frames, furniture, charts, graphs and wall hangings
Damp wipe all ceiling air conditioning diffusers, partition grilles, register and other ventilating louvers
Dust the outside surfaces of light fixtures, together with glass and plastic enclosures
Keep slop sink rooms in a dirt-free, tidy and arranged condition
Wipe clean and buff all metal hardware fixtures and added bright work
Appropriately clean and polish floors as required
Follow all safety and security worker rules and regulations
Dust and/or wash all index boards as necessary, eliminate fingerprints and smudges
Wash and sanitize all touchpoints daily
Brush or dust mop floors
Clean or damp mop exterior entry areas
Remove all stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, around light switches, private entry glass and dividers
Wash, clean and sterilize all water coolers
Keep watch over stairwells and clean or damp mop spillage
Damp wipe, wash or clean any spillage in community areas as necessary
Follow all established safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Must pass company certification to acquire a forklift license.
Check in/communicate daily with the Engineering/Maintenance Manager
Grounds clean up both interior and exterior
Perform some basic preventative maintenance
Some snow removal duties (shoveling walkways, salting, etc.)
Responses to all service requests
Timely completion of janitor work as well as special projects
Assists in maintaining the exterior of the property daily to provide clean and acceptable curb appeal at all times.
Responsible for the reasonable preventative and malfunctioning machinery, appliances, etc.
Manage cleaning supply inventory
All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Six months or more related experience. Ability to read, write and speak English at a defined proficiency level to meet training, safety and quality requirements.

Inside (other) – FDA; Good Manufacturing Procedures; SQF certified manufacturing environment

Outside – cleaning around facility

Equipment/Tools Used: (office equipment, machinery, tools, software, etc.)

Common cleaning equipment, floor scrubber/sweeper, forklift, pallet jacks, computer

Physical Requirements:

Light Work (lift 10 lbs): cases of products, hand tools, bags and boxes -continually

Medium Work (lift 11-30 lbs): cases of produce-continually

Heavy Work (lift 31-50 lbs): pallets and cases of products-occasionally

Other Physical Requirements: Twist, bend, scoop, reach, stoop, climb, standing for long periods of time

Mental Requirements:

Reading, Writing, Calculating
