About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The technician will work closely with production teams to identify potential problems before they impact operations, thereby supporting overall manufacturing productivity. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and structural components within the facility. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to a safe, reliable, and well-maintained manufacturing environment that supports the company’s operational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience performing facility & preventive maintenance and equipment repair in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Okuma machines and controls a plus.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of safety and maintenance best practices.
- Electrical proficiency with circuits, switches, wiring and codes a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
- Completing preventive maintenance on scheduled equipment.
- Performing skilled trades work such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and welding.
- Ability to maintain CNC controlled machinery with some supervision.
- Ability to exchange variable frequency drives and motors.
- Ability to replace sensors, cylinders and solenoids.
- Ability to use machine manuals and read blue prints to maintain electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Operating forklift and company vehicles as required.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Maintaining 5S in all maintenance and facility areas.
- Creating a continuous improvement environment by improving products, services and processes with the objective to reduce waste while striving for efficiency and profitability.
- Functioning within a CMMS work order system.
- Must have excellent attendance.
