JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary/Objective:

Purchase and manage materials to support both the manufacturing and distribution portions for Dicor’s Invision division’s business, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels in a cost-effective manner.

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Basic cycle counts of raw material and finished goods.
  • Assist in the execution of physical inventory activities and variance review.
  • Execute purchase orders to support manufacturing and distribution demand.
  • Evaluate sales forecasted data to determine material requirements.
  • Provide daily communication regarding material arrivals and stock levels.
  • Tracking of overseas containers – status and arrival times.
  • Coordinate and communicate material requirement forecast data to the supply base.
  • Assist the Sourcing Manager in daily activities. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce overall material costs – lower-level negotiations.
  • Ability to perform data review and analysis.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and strategic planning to further career development.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office setting within a manufacturing environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as telephones, computers, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. The employee may be required to lift/move up to 35 pounds on occasion.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position.  Due to the nature and demands of this role, flexibility is required to work outside normal business hours.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum HS diploma.
  • Experience in an office setting or similar environment.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in related field
  • Experience is electronic system (computer skills).
