About Jerritt Canyon

The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.

The Opportunity

The Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement activities at Jerritt Canyon by ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required to support site operations. This role works closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to fulfill purchasing needs while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.

This position plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency by managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate and timely procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities, including creating and managing purchase orders, requisitions, and vendor communications.
  • Source materials including critical spares, consumables, capital equipment, and services in alignment with operational requirements and company standards.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Planning teams to understand material needs and identify long-lead, high-risk, or sole source items.
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Support emergency, expedited, and after-hours purchasing to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation within systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Support vendor management activities, including communication, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls including site safety standards, MSHA requirements and company EHS policies.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier pricing, availability, and service levels to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Support inventory management by coordinating with warehouse teams to ensure appropriate stock levels including min/max, obsolete inventory and material availability.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities within procurement processes.
  • Assist with contract administration and documentation as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
  • Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of vendor management and procurement best practices.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to support operational needs in a dynamic environment.
