As an EMT, you help advance our mission by delivering timely, safe pre-hospital care and supporting emergency department operations to make a difference for patients and families across our community. You will also operate and maintain the emergency vehicle, keep the ambulance clean and stocked, and complete required documentation (prehospital reports within 24 hours and charting in the EMR) to ensure an accurate legal record.

- Current Iowa driver’s license
- Strong communication, empathy, and customer service skills

Night Shift Snapshot

Your night begins with a readiness check—confirming the unit is clean, stocked, and prepared for the next call. As requests come in, you transition quickly from calm to focused action, communicating clearly by radio or phone and staying aligned with State guidance and physician direction. You may move between scene response and the emergency room, working side by side with clinicians and coordinating smoothly with outside agencies to support continuity of care. Between calls, you reset equipment, review any updates that affect patient safety, and finalize time-sensitive reports and EMR entries so the record is complete before shift end—helping ensure the next team starts ready to serve our community.

Your Total Rewards

Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; Life Insurance; Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options; Paid Time Off; IPERS retirement; 457b and 457b Roth plans; and a competitive hourly pay range of $17.16 to $25.74.
