Tidewater Inc. is seeking an experienced Certified Journeyman Electrician to support the U.S. Department of State (DoS) International Maintenance Assistance Program (IMAP) and ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems at U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide. This role offers the opportunity to perform high-impact technical work, including preventative and corrective maintenance, system inspections, troubleshooting, and upgrades to mission-critical electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to collaborate on planning, material procurement, documentation, and field execution to meet DoS and industry requirements.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Coordination:

  • Attend in-brief meetings, security briefings, and out-briefs at Post (Embassies/Consulates).
  • Coordinate outages, access to secure areas (including PCC), and work schedules with Facility Managers (FM) and teammates.
  • Review GMMS (Global Maintenance Management System) equipment listings and PM schedules for accuracy and improvement.

Preventative Maintenance (PM) & Inspections:

  • Execute PM in accordance with IMAP checklists and document all findings.
  • Inspect and maintain electrical systems within SOW, including: 
    • Grounding and bonding systems
    • Switchgear and main/sub distribution panels
    • Lightning protection systems
  • Conduct infrared (IR) scans, torque/tightness checks, and load balancing on supply conductors.
  • Verify installation integrity: conductor sizing versus OCP, insulation condition, termination quality, and overall compliance.

Corrective Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Identify, estimate, and execute corrective maintenance tasks; prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and coordinate parts availability.
  • Test equipment post-repair to verify proper functionality.
  • Document unresolved issues on Remaining Deficiency worksheets with recommended next steps.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Produce thorough Service Reports after each visit (classified/unclassified as applicable).
  • Complete PM check sheets, Corrective Maintenance worksheets, and Remaining Deficiency worksheets.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping (Deltek or appropriate system) and expense reporting (Trip Expense Report/TER).

Training & Collaboration

  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) and, when requested, dedicated 4–8 hour training sessions for LES; collect signed training rosters.
  • Participate in weekly status updates and periodic Microsoft Teams meetings with the Field Service Manager.
  • Communicate daily accomplishments, issues, and timeline concerns to teammates and leadership.

Safety & Compliance

  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times and adhere to NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, and DoS/OBO standards.
  • Proactively identify life, health, and safety issues and work with teammates/FMs to resolve where possible.
  • Ensure work areas are cleaned, organized, and left in acceptable condition after tasks are completed.

Logistics & Administration

  • Review tickets, eCCs (Electronic Country Clearances), and passports for accuracy; return unneeded passports to IMAP Travel Manager promptly.
  • Stay current on professional trade licenses, code revisions, and expectations outlined in the Field Operations Manual.
  • Report any failures of company-issued equipment or GFE to IMAP Logistics through your Team Leader.
  • Complete Danger Pay/Post Hardship verifications (as applicable).

Requirements:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent (State or Local municipality level).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Ability to travel internationally and pass a physical examination for duty.
  • Capable of working on ladders, rooftops, and in hard-to-reach areas; able to lift and carry 25+ lbs.
  • Proficient with computers, email, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, and relevant safety/regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and commitment to safety/security protocols.
